Executive Profile: Jill Arena

Jill Arena is the CEO of Health e Practices, LLC and leads its consulting operations. She is a successful entrepreneur, having co-founded GreenField Health in 2001, which grew into a multimillion-dollar business. Having earned her Fellowship from the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 1999, Jill has extensive experience in revenue cycle management, practice operations, practice transitions, and leadership coaching. She also serves on the boards and executive committees of several physician groups in a key advisor role. She is the author of Physician, Heal Thy Financial Self, which is written for physicians who want to master the finances of their practices.

Over the past 30 years, Jill has guided the launch of more than 80 new medical clinics in multiple states. During her career with Health e Practices, Ms. Arena has served several medical groups in interim leadership positions as CEO and Administrator while helping them conduct successful national recruitment efforts. She led Health e Practices in developing a Clinic Operations Assessment tool that has been administered to many medical groups throughout the country. The assessment focuses on the eight domains from the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and has been used to successfully complete turnarounds at several clinics.

Prior to founding Health e Practices, Ms. Arena worked in various clinic operations positions and as a practice management consultant. She started her career as an auditor for a Big 8 public accounting firm and subsequently spent five years as the Director of Physician Services for Providence Health System, where she was responsible for the operations of 15 clinics and provided matrix management for eight others. She oversaw the risk contracting, budgeting, and physician compensation systems, as well as technology implementations.

Jill derives a great deal of professional satisfaction from guiding clients through important transitions in their practices to ensure their businesses thrive. She wholeheartedly believes that the practice of medicine can and should be both financially viable and joyful.
